YTI President and CEO since 2007. Mr. Pepper has assisted in the strategic planning of YTI since its inception, including the development of its business, technical, financing, and marketing plans. Mr. Pepper co-founded an exempt market dealer that was registered with the Ontario Securities Commission and conducted business in Canada, USA, and parts of Europe. Robert Pepper is also President of Pepper Weberg Corporation, which advises on all aspects of early stage and project financing for companies in the mining, real estate, and clean tech sector.
Madhav Dahal PhD
YTI Vice President of Technology, the Company’s senior technical position, with the responsibility of directing development of the company’s technical programs.
Dr. Dahal received his PhD in electrochemistry from the University of Newcastle, Australia, where he served as lecturer and research chemist specializing in the manufacture of chemical, electrolytic and lithium manganese oxide.
At the invitation of Professor Conway of the University of Ottawa, Dr. Dahal moved to Canada to work with Professor Conway, who at the time was widely considered to be the leading electrochemist in the world. Dr. Dahal left the University of Ottawa to assume his duties at YTI.
Richard Knittel – Technical Support and Public Relations
Richard Knittel has an extensive technical background in hydrogeology and is also a successful inventor of products he has sold on a wide scale. He has provided ongoing assistance to YTI in several areas including the development of documentation and overseeing the technical aspects of YTI’s wellfield program. He is also a major investor in YTI’s convertible preferred share offering.
Don Jackson – Treasurer
Don Jackson has 25+ years of experience in law as it pertains to business and finance. He also has an extensive background in the development of detailed financial and sensitivity analysis.
Fred Fredeen – Investor and Community Relations
Fred Fredeen has 20+ years’ experience in the securities industry marketing products in Canada, USA as well as parts of Europe and Asia. Mr. Fredeen has been involved with Yava from the early days assisting in all aspects of the financing as well as developing relationships with key members of the region in which Yava will be operating.
Trevor Byrne – Yava Research Team – Manager
Trevor Byrne received his MSc in Physics from Dalhousie University and has been working with YTI since 2009. He is involved with developing a state-of-the-art Li-ion battery cathode material as a value-added manganese product and commercializing YTI’s leach mining technologies. He and the Yava Research Team are based at the Verschuren Centre, Cape Breton University, Sydney, NS.
Alison Wilson – Yava Research Team
Alison Wilson has been with YTI since September 2013. She is a Professional Engineer (Chemical Engineering) with 20+ years of experience in manufacturing and environmental science. Alison is employed (as of April 2014) through the partnership between YTI and Cape Breton University’s Verschuren Centre as a Green Mining Researcher to advance the leach mining technology into commercial operation.
Daren LeBlanc – Yava Research Team
Daren received his PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from McMaster University and has more than 10 years of experience in environmental chemistry. Daren joined Yava Technologies as a Green Mining Researcher at Cape Breton University’s Verschuren Centre in May, 2015 and is working towards advancing leach mining technologies into commercial operations.
Ashley LeBlanc – Yava Research Team
Ashley LeBlanc recently graduated with a BSc from Cape Breton University where she was involved in analytical and environmental chemistry research. Ashley joined the YTI team in June 2016 as a Green Mining Researcher at Cape Breton University’s Verschuren Centre in Sydney, NS.
Jennifer LeMoine – Yava Research Team
Jennifer LeMoine graduated from UCCB with Chemical Technology and brings with her over 20 years experience working in an environmental laboratory setting. Jennifer joined the team in June of 2017 as a green Mining Researcher at Cape Breton University’s Verschuren Center in Sydney, N.S.
Daniel Gerrior – Yava Research Team
Daniel Gerrior received his BSc in Chemistry in 2015 at St Francis Xavier University where he took part in research in inorganic and physical chemistry. He then came to Cape Breton University where he completed his degree in Petroleum Engineering Technology, after which he joined the Yava Team in September of 2016.
